Three input channels, one output. Plug in up to three instruments and switch between them from a single footswitch — an LED shows which channel is live. The first two channels have a passive 500k attenuator, so a hot humbucker guitar can be brought down to match a low-output single-coil. The result is simple, reliable gain matching before your signal ever reaches the pedalboard. A toggle sets the channel cycle: all three channels (1 → 2 → 3), or just the first two (1 → 2) when you only need to A/B between two instruments.

FAQ

Does it work with basses and guitars with active pickups?

Yes — with passive or active guitars and basses. Because the audio path has no active gain stages, the GTRS Leveler won’t add electronic clipping of its own; it simply passes the selected instrument through.

Will a passive selector load my pickups and dull the highs?

No extra buffer or filter is added. The selected channel stays passive and high-impedance, unused inputs are disconnected by the relays, and the 500k controls on channels one and two keep the loading in familiar guitar territory.

Can I use a synth, keyboard or other line-level source?

In theory, yes. It passes the signal happily, and there is no active gain stage in the audio path to clip — even with a hot, line-level output. That said, the GTRS Leveler is built around high-impedance instruments. Synths and keyboards already have a low-impedance, buffered output that keeps their top end intact down a cable run; a passive attenuator levels by raising the output impedance, so turning it down can soften the highs and give up some of that advantage. If you do run a line-level source, keep its attenuator near maximum and trim the level at the machine itself.

Why does it need power if the signal path is passive?

The audio stays passive end to end — the 9V supply powers the relay coils, LEDs, and a small microcontroller that controls all signal routing. It runs from any standard 9V DC center-negative supply and is protected against reversed polarity.
